Climbing discrepancy search for flowshop and jobshop scheduling with time lags
This paper addresses the jobshop and the flowshop scheduling problems with minimum and maximum time lags. To solve this kind of problems, we propose adaptations of Climbing Discrepancy Search (CDS). We study various parameter settings. Computational experiments are provided to evaluate the propositions.
متن کاملMILP models and valid inequalities for the two-machine permutation flowshop scheduling problem with minimal time lags
In this paper, we consider the problem of scheduling on two-machine permutation flowshop with minimal time lags between consecutive operations of each job. The aim is to find a feasible schedule that minimizes the total tardiness. This problem is known to be NP-hard in the strong sense. We propose two mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) models and two types of valid inequalities which aim t...
متن کاملStudies on Metaheuristics for Jobshop and Flowshop Scheduling Problems
Preface Scheduling has been a subject of a significant amount of literature in the operations research field since the early 1950s. The main objective of scheduling is an efficient allocation of shared resources over time to competing activities. Emphasis has been on investigating machine scheduling problems where jobs represent activities and machines represent resources. The problem is not on...
متن کاملMinimizing makespan in flowshop with time lags
We consider the problem of minimizing the makespan in a flowshop involving maximal and minimal time lags, denoted by Fm|θ, θ|Cmax. Time lag constraints generalize the classical precedence constraints between operations: minimal (respectively maximal) time lags indeed specify that the time elapsed between two operations must be lower(respectively upper-) bounded. We assume that such constraints ...
متن کاملClimbing Depth-Bounded Adjacent Discrepancy Search for Solving Hybrid Flow Shop Scheduling Problems with Multiprocessor Tasks
This paper considers multiprocessor task scheduling in a multistage hybrid flow-shop environment. The problem even in its simplest form is NP-hard in the strong sense. The great deal of interest for this problem, besides its theoretical complexity, is animated by needs of various manufacturing and computing systems. We propose a new approach based on limited discrepancy search to solve the prob...
